Most Worshipful Grand Master Kenneth W. Lawson was born April 6,1926 to Frank and Ditha Lawson in Whitley County, Kentucky and educated the in Whitley County Public School System. Brother Lawson served his country honorably in the U.S. Army from 1944-1946. Brother Lawson was married January 31, 1947 in Knox County, Kentucky to the former Ruth Mae Campbell who is a member of the O.E.S. They have 3 children, Ralph Lawson of Shepherdsville (Past Master, Fern Creek No. 955 F. & A.M., currently Grand Senior Deacon), Janice Marea Lawson Dishon of Louisville, and Mark Anthony Lawson of Shepherdsville. Brother Lawson retired from General Electric after 31 years. He joined the Clermont Baptist in Clermont, Ky in August 1995 where he is currently Pastor. Brother Lawson received his Entered Apprentice degree on July 3,1968, his Fellowcraft on September 4,1968, and was raised to the sublime degree Of a Master Mason on October 2,1968, all within Fern Creek Lodge No. 955 F. & A.M. He was elected Master in 1974. He is also a member of Zoneton Lodge No. 964 F. & A.M. Brother Lawson received his R.A.M. degree in 1991 at King Solomon No. 5, his R. & S.M. degree in 1991 from Louisville No. 4. Her received his Orders of Knighthood in 1991 from DeMolay Commandry No. 12. He is a member of Zoneton No. 576 O.E.S. where he was High Priest in 1997. Brother Lawson received his Consistory degrees in March, 1994 in the Valley of Louisville, where he served as Illustrious Master in 1996. In 1999 he received the ceremonies of the A.A.O.N.M.S. at Kosair Temple in Louisville. Brother Lawson is a Past President of the Masonic Board of Relief, the Jefferson County Masonic Officers Association, and the Past Masters Society of Central Kentucky, where is is a life member. Brother Lawson holds several Life Memberships at the Masonic Homes of Kentucky. He has numerous Honorary Memberships in Lodges throughout the Commonwealth. Brother Lawson has served the Grand Lodge of Kentucky as District Deputy Grand Master in 1992-1993; Grand Chaplain 1988-1989,1990-1991,1993-1994; Grand Junior Warden 1996-1997; Grand Senior Warden 1997-1998, Deputy Grand Master 1998-1999; and Grand Master 1999-2000. , Most Worshipful Grand Master Kenneth W. Lawson is a rare individual indeed. His practice of-friendship rmoralityrand~brotherly love on a daily basis is well known by all who come in contact,with him. His wise words of counsel and advice are welcomed by all Masons. Hfe efforts on behalf of the Grand Lodge and Kentucky Masonry will certainly be aHasting legacy for all who come after.
