Most Worshipful Grand Master, Harold Eugene Armstrong, is a just and upright man and Mason. He walks and acts as a Kentucky Mason would. He promotes the principles of Freemasonry with friendship, morality, and brotherly love. He was born in Hardin County, Kentucky, November 27,1946. He was the third of four children born to J.W. (Master Mason deceased) and Lucille Dowell Armstrong, Order Eastern Star. Two Sisters Anita Armstrong Cain, and the youngest Betty Armstrong Rogers, Betty is a Past Matron of Pirtle OES Chapter No.449. One brother Charles William Armstrong, Master Mason; Side note: The Grand Master and his brother Charles received all of the blue lodge degrees on the same nights at Stephensburg Lodge #212. Brother Armstrong was educated in the Hardin County School system attending Rineyville and North Hardin High Schools graduating with the class of 1964. He also attended college, graduating with a degree in Business Management from the University of Kentucky. Brother Armstrong and his wife, the former Lynda Pence have resided in the Elizabethtown, Kentucky area for the past 20 years. He has 3 children Lyle Wayne Armstrong, James Scott Armstrong, and Elizabeth Armstrong Larrington and one son-inlaw, Bill Larrington. There are three grandchildren Eva Anne Armstrong, Steven Michael Armstrong, and Lance Caleb Armstrong. Brother Armstrong retired after 24 years as an employee of a manufacturing facility in Elizabethtown Kentucky. Brother Armstrong petitioned Stephensburg Lodge No. 212 in December 1969, was made an Entered Apprentice in January 1970, passed to the degree of Fellowcraft in February 1970, raised to the sublime degree of a Master Mason in March 1970 and served as Master of Stephensburg Lodge in 1974. Brother Armstrong served the Grand Lodge and the members of District # 13 as District Deputy Grand Master for 1977-78. He is a life member of the Masonic Homes of Kentucky. Serving on its Board of Director since 1997. He was appointed as the Grand Representative to the Grand Lodge of Brazil, San Paulo by Past Grand Master Wayne E. Rogers. Brother Armstrong was elected and installed Grand Junior Warden of the Grand Lodge of Kentucky, Tuesday, October 21, at it's 198th Annual Communication, serving as Grand Junior Warden, 1997-98; Grand Senior Warden, 1998-99; Deputy Grand Master, 1999-2000 and Grand Master, 2000-2001. He is a member of the following: Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Louisville (1970),(KCCH) He received his RAM Degree in Edmonds Chapter No. 83, Royal Arch Mason, (1975) His R.& S.M. Degree in Lebanon Council No. 56, Royal and Select Masters (1975) He received the Order of Knighthood in Marion Commandry No 24 Knights Templar (1975) Kosair Shrine Temple, A.A.O.N.M.S. (2000) Kentucky Colonel Commission Brother Armstrong is a life member of Central Kentucky Past Masters Society, Northern Kentucky Past Masters Society, and the Society of Past Masters of Southern Kentucky. He has Life Memberships in both homes and proudly holds Honorary Memberships in several Masonic Lodges from around the Great Commonwealth of Kentucky. He and his Lady Lynda have made many enjoyable visits to the Masonic Homes of Kentucky, visiting with the residents and staff and he remains dedicated to continuing these fine homes into the distant future. Brother Armstrong will be remembered for his love and concern for the residents of the Masonic Homes of Kentucky and his love for the masons of Kentucky. Brother Armstrong has brought dignity and respect to the Grand Lodge in his actions. He has represented the Grand Lodge of Kentucky, with distinction, in several out of state Grand Lodge Communications. We are proud of our Grand Master and we are grateful for the untiring efforts and time he has devoted to Kentucky Masonry.
